Trout Fishery
Fly & Bait Trout Fishing
- Situated in the heart of stunning Deeside with a backdrop of Clachnaben & the heather covered hills, it is an area of breathtaking natural beauty.
- Established more than 25 years ago the Mill of Strachan is a haven for wild life. Visitors include wild ducks (yellow eyed & mallard), swans, geese, the majestic osprey & sea eagle have visited.
- There are two well stocked lochs totalling 8 acres, one solely for fly fishing, the other, larger loch for both bait and fly fishing extending to approximately 5 acres.
- The lochs are feed by a tributary of the River Feugh, the Mill Lade, which used to power the old Mill.
- Both lochs have a variety of features including islands, shallows, shelves & deep holes providing diversity for the angler.
- The lochs are suitable for both beginner & experienced anglers alike.
- The lochs are regularly stocked with rainbow trout, though brown & brook trout have been also known to be caught.
- Refreshments may be had at the adjacent Feughside Inn.
